How to provide cancelation alternatives

Instead of letting members cancel outright, MemberSpace lets you present alternative options that may retain them. For example:

  • Extend their trial period
  • Give them a discount coupon
  • Let them contact you for support

Enable or Disable Alternatives

  1. In MemberSpace, navigate to Customize → General Options.
  2. Scroll down to the Cancelation Options section
  3. Toggle which alternatives you want to offer: Extended Trial (for users on a free trial) and Discount Coupon
  4. Save your changes.



Extended Trial

  • Works only for members who are currently in a free trial period.
  • You choose how many additional days to grant.
  • The extension is added to their existing trial time.
  • Members can use this option only once.

Discount Coupon

  • Allows a member to apply a coupon to their next billing cycle.
  • Use this to offer things like a “pause” or partial discount (e.g. a 100%–off coupon for one month).
  • Members can apply a coupon option only once.

Coupon requirements:

  • Must be valid for recurring or multiple-payment plans
  • Must be available on all Member Plans
  • Must not have a redemption start/end date
  • Must have no maximum redemptions
  • Must be enabled

What Members See

When a member clicks to cancel, they’ll see your configured alternatives (e.g. “Extend your trial,” “Apply coupon”). If they try to cancel again after using one alternative, those options won’t appear again.

By default, they’ll always see the option to contact support.
