Legacy WordPress Customers
If you previously installed MemberSpace on your Wordpress site you do NOT need to make any changes. However, there are benefits to switching to our plugin (see below).
MemberSpace Plugin Benefits
- Easily install MemberSpace (no need to copy and paste the install code)
- Implement extra security for Member Pages automatically (no need to manually add extra security code to individual pages)
- Access protected pages as a WordPress admin (no login to MemberSpace needed)
Removing the Legacy Install and Extra Security Code
You only need to remove the legacy install and extra security code if you are switching your current site's setup from the legacy install code to the MemberSpace plugin.
Once you've activated the MemberSpace plugin in WordPress, you'll need to remove the legacy MemberSpace install code as well as the Extra Security Code from your WordPress site.
If you added the MemberSpace install code and Extra Security Code via the free plugin we previously recommended ('Header Footer Code Manager' published by 99robots), follow the steps below to disable the plugin.
- In your WordPress backend, go to the "Plugins" section in the menu on the left.
- Click "Manage plugins" at the top right.
- Locate the "Header Footer Code Manager" plugin and click "Deactivate."
If you currently use the "Header Footer Code Manager" plugin to inject non-MemberSpace code into your site, follow the steps below to uncheck all MemberSpace-related code snippets from within the plugin instead of deactivating the plugin itself.
- In your WordPress backend, click "HFCM" > "All Snippets" in the menu on the left.
- Toggle OFF the switch next to the snippets you created for the MemberSpace install code and Extra Security Code.
If you used a different method to add the MemberSpace install code and Extra Security Code, you'll need to be sure to deactivate or remove the codes from your WordPress backend.
