What are Spaces?

Spaces are dedicated areas of your membership where you can organize content, build a community, and create different experiences for your members.

Each Space has its own title, content, and access settings. When creating a Space, you choose which plans will grant access to it. This allows you to show different Spaces to different groups of members based on the plans they have joined.

When you install MemberSpace on your website, the MemberSpace Button will appear. This button serves as the central hub where members can access their Spaces.

Types of Spaces

When creating a Space, you can choose from six starting options: Content Library, Community, Course, Coaching, Newsletter, or Empty.

Content Library, Course, Coaching, and Newsletter use the same content-based Space functionality, but each includes example content organized around that particular use case. The Empty space provides the same functionality without any example content, giving you a blank Space to build from scratch.

Community is different from the other options because it allows members to create their own posts and participate in discussions.

Content Library

You can add videos, links, files, and other content or lock pages on your existing website. Then, use folders to keep everything organized.

Community

Community Spaces are built for discussions with posts and replies. Both admins and members can start conversations and interact with each other in a forum-style setting.

Course

Start with example lessons that show how you can structure a course. Add videos, links, files, text, or locked pages, then use folders to organize your content into modules.

Coaching

Start with example coaching content that you can customize for your own program. Share videos, resources, exercises, links, and other materials, then use folders to keep everything organized.

Newsletter

Start with example newsletter posts that you can customize to share updates, articles, videos, links, and files with your members. Past posts remain available for members to browse in one place.

Empty (blank)

Start with a blank Space and build it from scratch without any example content. Empty Spaces include the same content features as Content Library, Course, Coaching, and Newsletter Spaces.

Additional types of Spaces may become available over time, giving you more ways to deliver content and experiences to your members.

Example content and when to choose Empty

Content Library, Community, Course, Coaching, and Newsletter Spaces include example content or posts to help you get started. You can edit or remove these examples and replace them with your own. They are simply a starting point and do not limit how you can organize your Space.

Choose Empty if you prefer to build your Space from scratch or if none of the provided templates match your use case. Empty includes the same functionality as the other content-based options, but without any example content.

If you want members to create posts and participate in discussions, choose Community.

Manage access to a Space

Access is managed separately for each Space. When creating or editing a Space, you can choose which plans will grant access to it.

Members will only have access to the Spaces included with their plans. This allows you to use multiple Spaces to organize different membership levels, programs, or types of content.
