Recovering abandoned signups

If a new customer creates an account but does not officially join one of your plans, we'll show them an abandoned signup popup on your website and send a short email series prompting them to finish joining the plan.

This applies to all customers, whether they sign up on your website (the popup will only appear for customers who signed up via a plan-specific link), are manually invited, or are invited via our import process.

Customizing the abandoned signup popup

The abandoned signup popup that appears on your website shows your payment form:

You can customize the appearance of the payment form (e.g. font, colors) in your MemberSpace account by going to Customize > Look & Feel > select Payment from the dropdown.

You can also change the message at the top of the abandoned signup popup by going to Customize > Custom Wording > Payment Form > Sign up reminder > enter a new message > click Save Changes.

Disabling the abandoned signup popup

By default, the abandoned signup popup is turned on. If you do not wish to use the abandoned signup popup on your website, you can disable it in your MemberSpace account.

  1. Click Customize in the left navigation.
  2. Click General Options.
  3. Unselect the box next to Enable Abandoned Signup Popup:



  4. Scroll down and click Save Changes.

In addition to the popup, customers will receive two separate emails reminding them to finish signing up for your planβ€”30 minutes after creating an account and 24 hours after creating an account.

Customizing the abandoned signup emails

You can customize the abandoned signup emails in your MemberSpace account.

  1. Click Customize in the left navigation.
  2. Click Notification Emails.
  3. Scroll down and click one of the emails:



  4. Edit the Email Subject and/or Email Body.
  5. Click Save Now at the bottom.

We do not recommend editing the variables (e.g. {{member.first_name}}) in the emails.

Disabling the abandoned signup emails

If you do not wish to send one or both of the abandoned signup emails, you can easily disable them. Follow the same steps as above, but instead of editing the email copy, simply toggle OFF Enable Email?:

On your MemberSpace dashboard, you'll see the total revenue MemberSpace has helped you save via the abandoned signup process:

Simply click the Saved metric to see your Saved Customers, Recovering Customers (in the process of being recovered), and any Lost Customers. Here, you'll find a breakdown of exactly which customer was saved, how much revenue was recovered, and when it happened.
