File Content Links:

  • Anything that is not a PDF, image, mp3, HTML, or video counts as a file
  • Download the file when the link is clicked

Before adding Content Links

Before adding your Content Links to your protected pages, you should edit them to make sure the following fields are how you want them:

You can always edit these fields in the future, but if you change "What can members do with this content" you'll need to manually replace that Content Link you placed on any protected pages.

How to add download/popup Content Links

This is for PDFs, images, videos, mp3s, or files

  1. Start by clicking Copy next to the Content Link:

If you can't click copy, instead, right-click "Link" and then click "Copy link address".

  2. Make sure you are logged into your Notion backend.
  3. Find the page you want to add the Content Link to and click it.
  4. Within the page, add text that will represent the Content Link (e.g. Click here for my video):

  5. Then select the part of the text which you want to actually be clickable as a link > click Link in the menu:

  6. Paste in the Content Link URL you copied from Step 1, then click Link to web page or just press Enter on your keyboard:

  7. To test this, you'll need to be on your custom domain (not the Notion backend) and logged in as a member who has access to the Content Link (i.e. on the correct plan).

Embedding Content Links in Notion

This is for videos, mp3s, images, or HTML

  1. Start by clicking Copy next to the Content Link:

If you can't click copy, instead, right-click "Link" and then click "Copy link address".

  2. Make sure you are logged into your Notion backend.
  3. Click on the page you want to add the Content Link embed.
  4. Within the page, add text — enter whatever text you want. This text will immediately transform into the embed when the page loads for your member:

  5. Then select the part of the text which you want to actually be linked to the embed > click Link in the menu:

  6. Paste in the Content Link URL you copied from Step 1, then click Link to web page or just press Enter on your keyboard:

  7. To test this, you'll need to be on your custom domain (not the Notion backend) and logged in as a member who has access to the Content Link (i.e. on the correct plan).
